Holaaaa familia,
How are we all doing? Well I actually get the chance to finally write. Well the work has been pretty slow these past few days. We have to be in at 7:00pm so it makes it hard to see some people that get home late. But it's been alright. It's nice actually leaving the house. It gets pretty boring staying in the house all day. But ya NOTHING has happened in my area. My area is calmer than leisure world at 9 o clock at night. There isn't any danger or anything. Which makes it harder to be locked in. But at least yesterday we were able to go to church, which was nice since the week before church was cancelled (I didn't know church could be cancelled and I wasn't in complete agreeance with it, but oh well). It was a little weird having to call our investigators and tell them all though the church is true it was cancelled and that they shouldn't go. Well we just told them it was for their safety, but it was weird.
So ya I'll tell you how I feel about everything that has gone on. Yes the country is disorganized right now. (CNN will make it sound a little worse than it is) but for the most part things are pretty calm. There are the protests in Tegucigalpa (I'm in downtown Teguc right now and it's calm) and things like that, but overall I haven't felt in danger so don't worry (I know you won't). Yesterday they wouldn't let the president land as you know which is sad that they can't settle this peacefully. I feel like the new president is trying to get as much power as he can and that's why he's doing these things. He says he's doing it for the people but I don't believe it. The funny thing is this current president was running to be a presidential candidate in Nov, but lost (cause the people didn't want him) but now they are all for him. Really no one likes him still, but they all say they do. It's interesting because before all this happened I didn't hear anyone say they didn't like Mel Zelaya. There was a vote last Sunday that he wanted and supposedly it was trying to make Honduras communist (don't really know), but since then the people hate him. I think it's a kinda a go with the flow type of thing. Like everyone else is doing it so I want to too. And they don't really know what they want. The government has blocked all news channels in favor of Mel Zelaya and they run programs all day showing all the things he did wrong and why he shouldn't be president. Things like that are why I feel this president just wants power. If he really wanted the best he would settle things peacefully. So ya it's a little crazy. I hope they can settle everything though.
I feel like we will be able to stay here and I hope so. I feel like Ammon when he went to preach to the Lamanites and says I desire to stay amongst these people (Alma 17 23). I would be very sad if I had to leave. I think as long as a war doesn't start we'll be alright. Tell all the missionary moms and stuff not to worry. Pray for us, but as of now I don't feel too worried. (I was a little scared I was going to leave).
But ya my computer time has run out. I love you all have fun. Live the gospel it's true.
Love Elder Brinton
